Terms for Mail Shield monitoring

Short and plain. If anything is unclear, write to tommy@slettvold.org.

Who provides the service

Mail Shield is made by Slettvold Security (org.nr. 935886457), Norway. Subscriptions are sold through Stripe Managed Payments: Stripe is the seller of record and handles payment, receipts, sales tax and refunds under its own terms.

What you get

Once a day, Mail Shield checks the public DNS records of each verified domain on your plan (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MTA-STS, TLS-RPT, BIMI and MX). When the grade drops, a record disappears, DMARC is weakened or a new serious problem appears, you get an email. The 1-domain plan covers one domain and the 5-domain plan covers five.

The checks only read public DNS data. Mail Shield does not send test emails, does not scan your servers and never changes your DNS.

Your domains

You may only add domains you own or are allowed to manage. Each domain must be verified with a TXT record before it is monitored.

Price, renewal and cancelling

The subscription renews every month at the price shown when you bought it. You can cancel at any time, and monitoring then runs until the end of the period you have paid for. To cancel, use the link in your Stripe receipt or write to me. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

Limits

I run the service with care, but DNS lookups can fail and no checker finds every problem, so an alert may arrive late or not at all. Mail Shield is guidance, not a guarantee that your email cannot be spoofed. As far as the law allows, my liability is limited to what you paid for the service in the last 12 months.

Your data

What is stored and for how long is described in the privacy policy. In short: your email address, your domains and their check results, deleted 30 days after the subscription ends.

Changes and law

If these terms change in a way that matters to you, I tell you by email at least 30 days before. Norwegian law applies.
